Airlines: Between Cape Verde and Nigeria.

(Voice of Paul) – Cape Verde is a country in the westernmost part of Africa, with the closest African neighbour being Senegal. Its total landmass is barely 4,000 square km, with a population that is less than 603k people as of March 2024. The country boasts of $1.9 USD billion economy and a per capita income of $3k USD. As small as the country is, it boasts a functioning national airline that flies to Europe, North America and Africa.

It is a big slap and an insult that a country like Nigeria with massive economic, population, and natural resources advantage over Cape Verde doesn’t have a national airline. The British, Germans, Chinese, Portuguese, Russians, and the Arabs would do almost anything possible to protect their local markets, especially a national company. This national patriotism would help the companies to keep people’s jobs, seek more global expansion, and contribute to the growth of the national economy of their countries.

Air Peace Airline owned by Mr. Allen Onyema is a national champion that should be celebrated. As the company would be launching its maiden flight to Europe, as a country with a population exceeding 220 million, we should all support the company to grow.

Below are the 5 Ways that Air Peace can boost Nigeria’s Economy

1. Increased competition may lead to lower fares and improved service for Nigerian travelers.
2. Lower fares could encourage more travel, benefiting tourism and business sectors in both Nigeria and the UK.
3. Air Peace’s expansion could create jobs in Nigeria for pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, and others.
4. A successful Nigerian airline on a major international route can boost national pride and improve Nigeria’s image in the aviation industry.
5. By offering flights purchasable in Naira, Air Peace can help reduce reliance on foreign currency, potentially strengthening the Naira.
