(Voice of Paul) – Francis Ngannou fought in the MMA for 5 years and his total earnings was $3 million USD throughout his entire career. The same Francis fought Joshua in Saudi Arabia and within 5 minutes he earned USD 20 million, even though he lost the boxing match. But what changed? That’s later.

If we converted that 30 million USD into Naira and compare it with the proposed minimum wage that the federal government has set, it would take a Nigerian more than 76,000 years before he or she would earn 20 million USD, is that even possible? In this age can anyone live upto 76,000 years, no – not even vampires.
Understanding how money is made would be a monumental paradigm shift for anyone. Contrary to the hard work pays slogan that many people including myself have been accustomed to, it is plain lies and fallacy! Hard work does not guarantee success – what guarantees success is valuable work.
Value is anything that solves a problem, be it singing to make people feel good, playing football to make people feel happy and excited about their clubs, cooking delicious foods, creating machines that do things faster and better than human beings, as long as it solves a problem, it is valuable. Next stop is to find an audience, people who have those problems and are able and willing to pay for the solution, the larger the audience, the larger the pay.

If someone knows how to play guitar within a village of about 200 persons and each person pays $1 USD to watch him play, even if he is as good as the best person in the world, the value of the guitarist is limited to the $200 USD. However, with exposure to 40 million viewers at the Superbowl Halftime Show or FIFA opening ceremony event, the guitarist would be providing value to the entire people watching him or her play, and astronomically giving the guitarist amazing earning power.
If you have an amazing skill to solve people’s problems, whatever it may be, you have to be so good at it, the next step is to get the exposure needed to become visible to people who would need the solution you are providing.
